new Loewe Art UHD CI+ double recording

Hello,

I'm new on this forum, sorry I can't put my questions in German. I've just bought the new Art40 UHD. I am using a CI+ module for decrypting Telenet signals (DVB-C). How can i arrange to record one encrypted channel and watch another.
Is the only way to do that, buy a second CI+module with card ? Or are there any other possibilities, like record encrypted and decode overnight ?

I'm using a external harddisk connected via USB.

It is a limitation from ci+ v1.3 it can only decrypt 1 stream at a time, with ci+ v1.4 this problem will be solved, but dont think upc/ziggo/telnet(all liberty global) will release 1.4 soon.

So if you wanne record 2 channels at the same time you need 2 ci+ modules. Same for 1 recording and 1 watching encrypted channel.

Will the future CI+ 1.4 be compatible with the Loewe Art 40 (chassis SL3xx) ?

According to the product datasheet it is only CI+ 1.3 compatible

Dont know if loewe can update(software wise) the ci+ chip in the tv, if they can meaby the can make it compatible with 1.4.

As far as I know there are no CI+ 1.4 tv's on the market yet. Besides double recording the major new feature will be IPTV without the need for a set-top box. When and if IPTV providers will support it remains to be seen.

I think it's highly unlikely that it ever will be possible to replace a CI+ 1.3 slot with a 1.4 slot.

I'm very much tempted to replace my L2710 42" Connect with a 48 or 55" UHD Connect, but since the old one still is working fine it would perhaps be more sensible to wait for the next generation. But sensible decisions is not my strong point.

Ok, so far so good. Two CI+ modules are in the Art40 now and recording and watching another encrypted program is working fine now.
But.... Instant Channel Swapping... is slow or not working. Maybe something to do with the CI+ modules ??

Also, I've tried to install Smart Assist on the tablet and works ok, but the moment I connect to my tv the controls of the tv doesn't work very well anymore. Only hard reset helps back.
Access to the DR+ archive via tablet is not working neither.. Bugs ??

Ci+ is indeed slower than fta non encrypted channels, moslty limitation of the ci module.

What you can try is go to menu -> extras -> ca module -> rights and play with option same rights etc.
