When I access the timer list or EPG it is not possible to delete future planned recordings; followed the on screen instructions to no avail

Switching the TV off via the remote makes no difference however strangely the TV starts up immediately as if the power saver mode has been disabled (which it hasn't) and the set makes a slight whirring noise from the back (presumably a fan) in standby.
Only way to rectify is switch off using the remote then switch off via power switch
