I cannot get this to work on my Connect 40 UHD (in UK)
The function is enabled; initial test email successful . However despite a message confirming email sent using the mobile app. on an iphone no programmes are recorded
When I did a retest of the function on the TV it stated Connection not possible, try again a few mins later and it says email successful???

PLEASE! do not set general titles for a thread. If everybody with a problem concerning mobile recording would name his thread 'mobile recording' we could not make head or tail of it
So PLEASE! let us know the problem or question by a meaningful title!!
Renamed it for you!

Sorry, I understand your point
Anyway I have turned mobile recording off for now until Loewe look into it; not a major issue to be fair. Maybe due to location here in the UK??

Do you happen to have means of watching the TCP traffic in your home network and decode it by WireShark or the like? The majority of router boxes here in Germany have such a tool built in - may be yours has got one, too.

Sorry Dani but I have no idea at all and wouldn't know how to find out
I will see what comes up on Google but thanks anyway

In general would you tend to see your internet feed to be stable? And likewise the link between access point(router) and TV?

Yes it would appear so; the signal strength was something like 90% and HD streaming etc works generally fine
I have sent LOG requests to the Loewe server with no issues

Done the standard fix? So power-cycled TV and router?

Thanks
Will reset router and do a factory reset on TV to see if it helps

Did reset etc and yesterday it did work (although recorded 2 programmes instead of 1) but today no joy and it failed to list timer

Two more ideas maybe worth to give a shot:
a) Did you try to use the private email option rather than the Loewe one?
b) Access point: Any firewall rule enabled to control SMTP traffic? Could the TV be in a special subnet with restrictions applying (such as a 'guest net')?

Thanks will have a go at the private email test 1st and let you know how I go on

I wonder if I should disable the firewall on router??; Talk Talk recommend Port Forwarding instead but I don't know what info to provide; sorry not good with computers!

in general turning off the firewall on your router puts your entire home network at risk. so that's a DON'T.
port fowarding would be used for those devices on your network, that need to be exposed to the 'evil' internet. do you see any need for this? picking up or sending mails does require no such effort, this works right through the firewall, no changes needed.
if there was a service/tool within your router to check email traffic this might be switched off for a test. but i doubt there will be an option like this.

I have tried setting up manually and have achieved a successfull test result
Some questions:
Do I mark delete mail from server ; yes or no?
When sending an email for timed recordings is the address I send it to:
tv-xxxxxxx@loewe-dialogue.com? along with a PIN code that is unique to the TV
Currently Germany is +1hr ahead of the UK so would I amend the timed setting in the email subject by +1hr eg a programme on BBC HD at 21.00 in UK I change to 22.00 or leave it set to UK time?
Thanks in advance

Still not working; failed TEST manual email despite initially being successful upon setting up the manual email account
I am pretty sure its a software issue. I have noticed that when a test email is started the progress bar is completely white as if its stuck;the TV then reports connection not possible
Presumably a progress bar should progress as the task is completed

Sry to hear about the persisting problem.
I do not think it's necessary to convert times. The time should be interpreted locally (within it's time zone) by your TV.
i.e. an email to
MikeBsLoeweTV@hotmail.com
w/ the subject
1234 20:05 BBC two
should record "Gardeners' World" this evening. Given 1234 was your TV's PIN and it fetches it's email from that hotmail account.
The recording time in the email should always be within the show you want to record, not it's exact start time.

Important info: the mail-account must only be used by the TV/mobile recording!

Apologies on being a bit slow here! ; in may case my email account set up manually is
michaeldbrown01@outlook.com
Do I send emails to tv-123456.....@outlook.com with PIN and prog details etc?? or something different
Cheers

As dubidu mentioned, the private account should be used exclusively by the TV.
So
michaelbrown01@outlook.com idealy would not be your personal every-day email account too.
Lets say it was used by the TV only:
the mail to program your recording would be sent (surprise) to
michaelbrown01@outlook.com (then picked up by the TV)
the important part is this
email's subject:
[
PIN] [
Date - may be missing] [
Time] [
channel] such as
1234 20:05 BBC one

Sadly both methods exhibit the same issue in that the recording will work then next time connection fails
I switch off for the function for now in the hope that a software release remedies issue in the future

The function now seems to be working
Software fault to DR streaming option seems to be affecting the mobile recording function. Switching OFF the sharing of archives with other TV's seems to have sorted the issue
