ich habe mir schon mal das Manual gesogen...mannomann, ein echt fettes Teil..Hunderte von Seiten. Ich bin gespannt, ob ich das auf die Reihe bekomme mit der Installation.

Ich hab einfach alles gepostet, weil ich ehrlich gesagt die Unterschiede zwischen den Versionen nicht kenne bzw. mir ist das egal. Ich sag mir einfach, daß die Versionsnummer keine Rolle spielt. Es muß nur das, was ich brauche, funktionieren. Höhere Versionen kommen da nur rein, um den Spieltrieb an der Kiste zu befriedigen.

@Boembel, so ähnlich sehe ich das auch, deswegen lass ich es so wie es ist. Sollte was nicht funzen kann ich immernoch die neuere Version aufspielen und mein Glück versuchen. Ehrlich gesagt, war es mir jetzt auch zu müßig das ganze Changelog durchzugehen.

Ich habe einige Versionen von Twonky am Qnap getestet und bin bei 4.4.17 geblieben.
Ist nicht so aufgeblasen, dadurch schnell und hat alle Möglichkeiten um den NMP2000/2100 zu beliefern.

Hoffe mal das ich von den WD Problemen verschont bleibe.
Habe das leider auch schon öfters gelesen aber nachdem die letzte Firmware meines Qnap auf die Festplatten
angepasst wurde wird es schon passen.

OK ich muss gestehen eine der WD Platten ist am Wochenende abgeschmiert
Aber der Supergau habe ich danach selbst verursacht
Da mir der 209 Qnap eh schon zu klein war und ich sowieso eine neue Platte brauche natürlich sofort in einen TS-439 PRO II+ und in Serverplatten mit 24x7 natürlich nicht von WD investiert.
Jetzt kommt der Wahnsinn
Mann liest ja natürlich keine Bedienungsanleitung
Einfach die Platten aus dem 209 in den 439 eingebaut und durchgestartet (Platz zum einbauen gibt es ja genug).
Was macht der neue Qnap ohne zu fragen die alten Platten neu zu initialisieren.
Das Dateiformat vom alten ist ext3 und der neue verwendet ext4.
Somit hat er die Platten in einigen Sekunden in ein anderes Format gebracht ohne sie zu formatieren.
Da ich in Linux nicht sattelfest bin habe ich jetzt 2* 2TB Platten in einen dubiosen Format und keine Daten mehr.
Hat irgendjemand eine Idee oder Erfahrung mit Programmen zum Festplatten restaurieren auf Linux Basis
Die Daten müssten ja noch auf der Platte sein da sie ja nicht formatiert wurden (Das initialisieren ging einfach zu schnell am Qnap).
Ich vermute das der File Header zerstört ist

Wenn ich das Wort Supergau lese, dürfte ein Backup nicht vorhanden sein.
Ich kann dir leider auch nicht helfen. Wende dich am besten mal direkt ans QNAP-Forum. Dort gibt es bestimmt jemanden, der dir sagen kann, ob und was machbar ist.

wieso?? ich habe eben aus dem Grund, das WD eher negative Kritiken bekommen, davon Abstand gehalten und eine Seagate Barracuda gekauft.

Natürlich gibt es ein Backup von den Wichtigen Daten.
Aber wer macht schon ein Backup von seiner MP3 Sammlung oder von den Kinderfilmen und nicht soooo wichtigen Dateien die einen erst abgehen wenn sie weg sind.
Ich habe ca. 600GB von 3,8 TB gesichert also wäre es schon toll die wiederherzustellen.
Wenn nicht Pech gehabt.

Und du bist sicher, daß nicht schon alles ok ist? Ext3 kann ohne Datenverlust quasi on-the-fly nach ext4 konvertiert werden. Ansonsten sehe ich eher schwarz, denn entweder sind die alten INodes überschrieben oder es wurden jede Menge neue INodes irgendwo mitten in die bestehenden Daten reingepfeffert. Im ersten Fall sind alle Verwaltungsstrukturen perdu, im zweiten Fall ein unvorhersehbarer Teil der Daten.

So einen Blindflug à la 'wird schon gutgehen' habe ich auch 20 Jahre hinter mir, bis ich dann endlich ein sinnvolles Backup-Medium gefunden hatte: externe Festplatten mit eigenem (in der Regel ausgeschaltenen) Netzteil, per USB3 an den Rechner angeschlossen.

Zum Thema WD-Platten. Die haben wir reihenweise in unseren Industriesystemen im 24/7-Einsatz (als RAID natürlich). Bisher ohne Plattenbedingten Ausfall. Und hier auf meinem PC und Laptop laufen ebenfalls beinahe ausnahmslos WDs. Von den Seagates würde ich höchstens mal die Constellation ausprobieren wollen.

Ein QNAP soll es werden. Aufgrund Prozessor und Speicher wird es auf einen TS 439 hinauslaufen.
Aber welche Festplatten kommen rein? 4x 2TB. Samsung oder WD? Und welches Modell?

Ich habe mittlerweile eine TS-212 hier stehen, bestückt mit 4 TB. Hängt über einen Switch am GB-LAN, das per 500 Mbps dLAN von Devolo auf den Mac mini im Wohnzimmer gelegt wird. Mit der Performance des dLAN bin ich aber gar nicht zufrieden, lässt sich im entsprechenden Thread bei den Netzwerk-Fragen nachlesen. Der Datendurchsatz reicht gerade so aus, um 1.080p in mittlerer Qualität fehlerfrei zu streamen, von den beworbenen 500 Mbps bin ich jedenfalls weeeeeeeeit weg. Liegt aber wohl nicht an den dLAN-Adaptern, sondern an den Leitungen hier im Haus.

Kannst Du beide bedenkenlos nehmen, Samsung hatte zwischenzeitlich mal Qualitätsprobleme, die sind wohl aber Geschichte. Ich würd's einzig und allein am Preis festmachen, ehrlich gesagt.
