I have recently acquired a Loewe Xelos 40 It all seems to work well enough, but I wondered whether there was a software/firmware update more recent than one currently installed. The Loewe website seems not to offer any support for older models...
I see some references here to later updates, but they are not available to download.

Thanks again. I have put the "Softwareupdate_MB180.pdf through Google translate. It refers to and describes the procedure "from version 3.1.5".. Miy current install is version 2.2.1... Can I just use the old method to flash the 3.1.6 or do I need an intermediate upgrade to 3.1.5 first?

3.1.5 or 3.1.6 doesn*t matter here, it's more likely due to the USB stick.
The chassis MB180 is very demanding in terms of stick selection!
Try another one.

I have tried a different USB thumb drive. In both of the TV's USB sockets. And tried updating the bootloader first...
But the TV resolutely refuses to do anything!
I think I need the 3.1.5 version first, to update the software, to allow the new 3.1.6 package to be installed via the on-screen menu, as detailed in the instructions included with Ver 3.1.6...

I must confess that I am confused. The instruction for both packages 3.1.5 and 3.1.6 say that they are installed using a "new" method, using the "menu" with the TV switched on. But if you have a previous version of the software, that option is of course not available in the OSD! As it is NOT part of the software which is already installed!
